After a gap of 37 years,the name of Nithsdale Wanderers who play at Lorimer Park,Sanquhar was revived when the new club(formerly Nithsdale Amatuers who played for many successful years in the Dumfries Saturday Amatuers League) successfully applied for membership of the South of Scotland Football League in 2001 .The latest trophy win was winning the Tweedier Cup in season 2016/17 and the biggest impact in the league was second place in season 2006/07.
